Volvo V70R
Fall 2022-Present
My current passion project is my 2006 Volvo V70R. I purchased this vehicle in November 2022 in rough shape, with the mission of restoring it to its former glory to the best of my capacity. This is my “realistic” dream car and I’m extremely happy with how the last year and a half has turned out. I’ve managed to transform it into a state free of dashboard warning messages which is somewhat of an achievement with these cars.
Things I’ve done so far:
Basic refresh: ignition coils, sparks, fuel filter, throttle body replacement, filters
PCV System replacement
Injection system refurbishment
Bevel Gear and CV axle rebuild
Coilover swap
Included harvesting of accelerometers from OEM active struts to preserve ability to change throttle maps
Strut tower corrosion treatment
Plans for the future:
Currently rebuilding a spare turbocharger to swap in with 360° journal bearings
Exhaust, downpipe and front intercooler in the mail
Top end refresh: valve and cam seals, valve lapping, new exhaust manifold
