My first two internships were spent at Colortech, a plastic raw material supplier in Ontario, Canada. At Colortech, I worked as a technician working on processing equipment across the company’s founding plant.

These internships really boosted my mechanical aptitude. I serviced a variety of pumps, extruders, heating and cooling systems, and got comfortable with a number of tools (and almost got over my fear of heights! Not quite). I made my first AutoCAD drawings here which included massive assembly drawings for modular extruders, and managed part and tooling orders for the maintenance department. Working here got my comfortable with wrenching on projects at school, inspired a passion for woodworking, and pushed me to begin work with machining tools.
